Chiropractors in New York State are no longer allowed to perform Department of Transportation physicals. The FMCSA informed the practitioners via letter that effective of the date of the letter, they would no longer be allowed to perform DOT physicals. The FMCSA notified them that their information would be publically available on the National Registry of Certified Medical Examiners for three years, however, they are no longer Certified Medical Examiners. Due to language in the Omnibus Spending Bill (HR 83), the FMCSA published notification in the Federal Register on December 22, 2014, of temporary suspension of two provisions in the Hours of Service regulations for §§395.3(c) and 395.3(d).
